Favorite Moments with Playboy Photographers

laureneliseWe decided to chat with some of the Playboy Cyber Girls to find out what their favorite experiences with Playboy photographers are. We were lucky enough to chat with Lauren Elise, Cyber Girl of the Month in September 2011. (Follow her on Twitter!)

I did my photo-shoot with a wonderful photographer named Matt Wagemann. Playboy flew me out to Chicago to do my two-day photo-shoot there and I had a blast! I shot up in a multi-million dollar penthouse with a Chinese garden on the rooftop.

I enjoy my photo-shoots with Playboy so much because I am encouraged to be myself—I think that is what makes my experience with them so enjoyable.

I have also recently shot with Cyber Girl of the Year (Bethanie Badertscher) for a special feature in the Cyber Club. Parts 1 & 2 have already been released for everyone to see… but there is still one more set that is coming out soon! That was the first time that I was able to work with another girl in the Playboy Cyber Club and it was simply amazing!

Cyber Girl Sunday with Dennii Nicole

Dennii is one of the coolest new additions to the GC Cyber Girl Gallery. She races cars, plays computer games, goes scuba diving, and even gets her whole body painted at the Playboy Mansion! Hobbies are abundant in my life! My first one is racecar driving and cars—I just started practicing drifting on the track with constant track time in which I’m building up to competing and winning competitions plus my love for working on cars.

My second hobby would be makeup! Since being published a few times I do it as a side job, Playboy Estonia being my biggest engagement, but I learned it as a fun interest while going to school in Hawaii.

The third (since I’m a Pisces… fishy), I love anything that revolves around water such as surfing, scuba diving, snorkeling, cliff diving, and swimming in general.

And last but not least is my dorky geeky side! Being a computer wiz, I play computer/video games such as World of Warcraft and Halo.

When did you first start pursuing being a Cyber Girl?

I first started toward Playboy when I tried out for the casting that was held in October of 2011. I also tested with a photographer for Playboy and that plus a submission via email got me the role!

Do you know a lot of other Cyber Girls?

I just recently met a few more Cyber Girls through Twitter! They are all super sweet and great. : ) I hope to meet more awesome people along my venture with Playboy and other opportunities in GC Marketing!

What’s your favorite part of working with Playboy?

Playboy so far has been super professional about everything including photo shoots, handling all the paperwork, profiles and communication between me and the editors. I admire what a great company they are and I’m glad I can jump on board and work with such great people. I look forward to many adventures with Playboy!

Do you have any advice for other girls who want to be brand ambassadors or work in promotions?

Advice to give out to other models out there, hmmm…. I’d say just pursue your dreams and goals. While doing that be yourself and let your true personality shine through—clients and people around you love to work with easy, outgoing, nice, and fun faces. : )

Has anything funny ever happened at an event you were working?

I haven’t done any promotions for this company or Playboy yet since I just recently got welcomed into the family, but I’d love to do anything to be honest! : ) I want to touch my interests into anything such as live events for client companies for brand products, liquor brand promotions, Cyber Girl events, etc. I am open to anything!

Has anything funny ever happened to you on the set of a photo shoot?

Hmmm the funniest thing, I think it would have to be the first event I did for a charity event/party that was held at the Playboy Mansion back in November 2010. I intentionally brought lingerie for the party but I forgot it at home in Florida while I was in LA. Next thing you know I actually ended up being one of the body painted models and didn’t need the lingerie after all! Plus, later that night, I saw another girl wearing the same outfit I was going to wear. Glad I went naked instead! LOL

Playboy Knows What the Country Needs

Jungeberg. In their study, “Playboy Playmate Curves: Changes in Facial and Body Feature Preferences Across Social and Economic Conditions, they found that while chin measurements, facial thinness, bust size, or hip measurements did not change over the years with any statistical significance, waist measurements, heights, weights, waist-to-hip ratios, bust-to-waist ratios (“curvaceousness”), body mass index, eye height, eye width, and eye area all followed a pattern depending on the economic climate.

In the discussion of their data, the professors conclude that when the social and economic climate is challenging it’s the Playmates that look more mature, have larger waists, are a touch heavier, and have smaller eyes that are preferred. According to the experts, when times are tough men are programmed to prefer women with these biological markers because they indicate a woman who won’t require as many resources to keep healthy.

However, when times were better for the United States it’s the lithe, light, petite, and younger Playmates with tiny waists and big chests that men prefer. When the country is doing well there are plenty of resources to spread around, so women who are “neotenous” (have baby-like features) can be supported and cared for with greater ease.

From 1960’s first Playboy Playmate of the Year Ellen Stratton to 2011’s Playboy Playmate of the Year Claire Sinclair, it turns out that these girls are excellent reflections of the country’s state and preferences.

Playboy Fun Facts for the Cerebral

Everyone’s heard of Playboy—it’s an incredibly well known brand—but beside the beautiful girls and the party lifestyle, there are some clever elements and details that might have escaped you…

For all Shakespeare fans out there, the Playboy Mansion has an annual summer event called the Midsummer’s Party (always held on the first Saturday in August). It’s a star-studded celebrity affair that makes full use of the Mansion’s lavish amenities, but I’m not sure that these were the fairies that good ol’ Willy Shakespeare had in mind:

For those with ambitious goals in life, get educated like Hef! According to a Hefner biography, in high school he logged an IQ of 152, and after a brief stint in the military, he studied at the Chicago Art Institute for two years and then got his bachelors degree from the University of Illinois where he majored in psychology. He then worked for Esquire writing copy until he left over a squabble about a $5 raise. In frustration, he decided to start his own magazine called “Stag Party,” but was forced to change the name because of a trademark held by an existing magazine called “Stag.” His first issue of “Playboy” was launched to success using a nude color photograph of Marilyn Monroe (taken before she became famous!) that Hef purchased. Nice job putting that psychology degree to work, Hef!
